Wincham are proud to confirm that they were runners up in the AIPP Awards 2011 announced in London at ‘A Place in the Sun Live’ Earls Court on Friday 11th March. Wincham was nominated in the category of ‘Most Outstanding Example of Customer Service’ (Service Providers) and were the only Spanish tax and legal consultant shortlisted in that category.
The Association of International Property Professionals [AIPP] annual awards panel looks for excellence in customer service and the awards were presented by Channel 4’s A Place in the Sun: Home or Away’s Jonnie Irwin on the exhibition’s main stage, in front of a packed audience of both consumers and industry professionals.
Jonnie was also one of the 11 strong panel of judges who attended a full day of judging at the AIPP head office where the finalists were selected. To oversee the judging process was Christopher Hamer, The Property Ombudsman (UK), who acted as Chair of the panel. “The winners of this year’s awards can be very proud of their achievement and we send our congratulations to them,” said AIPP’s Chief Executive Mark Sharp. “Indeed, all entrants should be applauded for taking part. By putting themselves through the entry process and opening themselves up to independent assessment, entrants are playing their part toward defining a benchmark for higher industry standards.”
“These awards are all about awarding overseas property professionals who are transparent, follow best practise and embrace business ethics” says Nigel Lewis, Head of Content at Prime location.
AIPP members are located all over the world and part of the AIPP nomination process involved Wincham being asked to submit case studies for scrutiny. The clients were contacted directly by the judging panel and asked prior to the judging day to verify that the events described by Wincham had occurred.
Since 1994 Wincham have been offering clients a unique comprehensive tax planning solution, helping clients to address the serious lack of professional advice available to Non-Domiciled property owners in Spain regarding Spanish inheritance tax liabilities. Most clients do not appreciate that advice from Spanish lawyers can expose owners and their beneficiaries to a significant tax burden in Spain.
Wincham have been advising non Spanish property owners for many years that owning a property in Spain via a UK Limited Company structure can protect their beneficiaries from Spanish inheritance tax but this strategy has been met with some scepticism from the market.
“Hopefully our recognition by the AIPP demonstrates that Wincham is providing clients with a professional tax and legal service to the highest level,” says Mark Roach, Sales & Marketing Director at Wincham.
“Our team in the UK and Spain are thrilled at the achievement which clearly demonstrates the confidence that the judging panel has in our company” says Malcolm Roach, Managing Director of Wincham.
